We Can Be Free and Still Live in A World that is Yet to be Free
There is a mysterious path that opens up when we free ourselves and stop attaching to beliefs that become our obstacles, problems and challenges. When we realize there is no destination in life—just life itself, we tap into our inner fire. We begin to see things that were always here, allow ourselves to feel deeply and listen to the whispers of our heart.
Good intentions are no longer good enough for many of us as what we are seeing play out on the world stage is not kindness and empathy; just more of the same divisions. Someone may have good intentions but their actions can negatively impact those around them in devastating ways. This is why it’s our time to move away from good and bad constructs, and truly know who and what is healthy and toxic for our own wellbeing.
This is a time to reflect on whether the whole world is a stage; or not. And if it is, can we stop pretending? Can we stop reacting? Can we ask ourselves whose play we are starring in, and why? When we do, we will find the safety inside of ourselves and begin a journey of self-trust that will help us own our power with kindness, beauty and truth.
We Are Free to Choose How We Respond
We can choose to live as a character in the film Groundhog Day, and repeat the same scenes or we can exit, stage left. We can become aware of our conditioned responses and walk away from plot twists. This is an unprecedented opportunity to become whole.
Poet and author Maya Angelou was a force of nature. Like all of us, she faced many hardships throughout her life and many beautiful experiences. She left us a legacy of thought provoking writing, which is one of a kind:
“We write for the same reason that we walk, talk, climb mountains or swim the oceans—because we can.
We have some impulse within us that makes us want to explain ourselves to other human beings.
That’s why we paint, that’s why we dare to love someone—because we have the impulse to explain who we are.
Not just how tall we are, or thin… but who we are internally… perhaps even spiritually.
There’s something, which impels us to show our inner-souls.
The more courageous we are, the more we succeed in explaining what we know.”
To free myself, or not; that is the question we are each being asked at this moment in time. In every moment of your day, you are authoring the story of your life, and the questions you ask bring you closer to your own dream, vision and direction; or not.
