Inner Joy - Ayelet Baron - Radical Trekking

Tapping into Inner Joy

Do you ever wake up feeling your inner joy and curiosity? Is it rare or does it happen every morning?

Life can be a rollercoaster. Some days we feel the joy inside ourselves and feel on top of our world. And there are days where we may find ourselves getting punched in the gut by unexpected and unpleasant surprises.

It’s not easy to navigate challenging situations but who better to do it than us? And when we learn to practice zero point neutrality and radical honesty, we teach ourselves how to protect ourselves and possibly not get sucked in to unnecessary drama.

When do we stop pretending and hiding our true selves? So many of us right now are pretending to be someone we’re expected to be. And by doing so, we rob ourselves of authentic connection with ourselves and each other.

As long as we pretend to play a role and try to build an image, those around us only interact with our facade. And who wants any more fakeness in our lives right now when we can practice radical honesty?

It might be hard in the beginning to shift but our inner beauty cannot remain hidden without causing great disharmony, dis-ease and anxiety. But is it also exhausting to continue to play an inauthentic role just to please someone else. And as I have learned firsthand, the people who cannot accept us as who we are may no longer play a role in our lives. And that’s okay.

When we can truly be ourselves, everything shifts. And believe me, we get plenty of opportunities to practice.

Unlearning

The trick is becoming conscious of our choices. We can wake up feeling doom and gloom about our day, or we can make a conscious choice to feel gratitude and be curious about what we can create right now.

When we consciously choose inner joy, we get a rush of adrenaline. And no, we don’t have to just celebrate life on special occasions like birthdays, holidays and anniversaries but every day is simply an opportunity to experience everything.

While each of us faces our own traumas, disappointments and heartbreaks, we can do our work and choose to heal and create new chapters in our lives. And it takes work to shift and heal. Can we begin to take impeccable care of ourselves?

The more we become aware of ourselves and determine whether our beliefs and fears are own, or not, the more in touch we get with what’s real for us. And on this path, we get to connect with others who are also unlearning and simply play. No judgement required.

Unleashing

We don’t know how our day will unfold and when we see it as exciting, we have an opportunity to create. When we realize our anxieties stem from beliefs, we can learn to let go and unleash ourselves by discovering what’s healthy for our wellbeing.

Why? Because what’s waiting for us right now is utterly meaningful. There is so much happening in the world right now and when we find each other, leaving our drama behind, we get to create magic. We tap into our seven year old self with curiosity and a deep desire to experiment.

But first, we become aware of our choices and choose with our heart. It may guide us to take the leaps we are ready to onto uncharted paths of adventure. We each know when we are ready and there is no rush. There is no destination—just life to experience.

While being supported is great, no one can connect with our inner joy like we can. We each have a choice in how we approach every moment in our lives. What joy are you unleashing?

Rainer Maria Rilke shares, “Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”
