We Are Never Alone - Radical Trekking - Ayelet Baron

Never Alone

Loneliness is a manmade human construct, but what if we are never truly alone? When we remember we are part of nature, our entire understanding of reality shifts. We appreciate the abundance of our natural environment provides: the birds, the plants, the sky, the ocean, the earth and the vast unknown.

But for so many of us, these are confusing and isolating times. There is increasing frustration in the world today as our current reality peels away layers of uncomfortable truths. As our systems continue to crumble, there is confusion as more of us are trying to make sense of the times we are experiencing.

The heartbreaks and traumas of our world have always impacted me as like many of us, I am simply a product of what happened before me. War and conflict have been in my family line since the beginning of time. I met someone tonight and we bonded over his family fleeing Italy during WWII and mine, Vienna and Poland. Not everyone made it out alive. That’s what happens with war, so many innocent lives are taken.

And for those of us who have experienced conflict in our life or work, we know the pain it creates for everyone involved. No one is spared. Not even the winners can maintain the high of victory for very long. There’s always a need for more and more disruption.

Time to Heal

Terence McKenna shared “… the cost of sanity in this society is a certain level of alienation. I grapple with this because I’m a parent … And we all want our children to be well adjusted; unfortunately, there’s nothing to be well adjusted to!” And Jiddu Krishnamurti’s concurs that “It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

Maybe we are being called to stop adjusting ourselves? Can we begin to forgive the pain of the past by not needing to repeat it? Can we break the cycles of our history?

For many of us, there is hope because we are here to create. There are so many people willing to sacrifice everything to chart a new path for humanity that requires dedication and focus. It’s not easy as society sees us as the crazy ones who no longer follow the rules. Along the way, we lose friends, colleagues, family and anyone that our new path scares.

Yet, the pain is worth the beauty we are uncovering in our hearts. Paths and doors are opening to anyone who is ready to join this wild ride of exploration.

Maybe because of all of this, we can focus on what’s possible and how we can create meaning to live healthy lives. A world with no sides or divisions that make us want to compete and win at all costs. And, what if we are never alone on our journey? When we take time to be still and pay attention, we can feel the mystery and magic that is here for us to experience. Just like darkness, there is light.

Paving the Path Energetically

And those of us on this crazy path are not here for the fame or the glory. Most of us would love to disappear and live a quiet and peaceful life. But the Hopi prophecy reminds us that …

“It is time to speak your truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for your leader.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

One of the most humbling experiences is to commit to a vision that is larger than ourselves. And knowing that the future of life depends on each of us makes it all meaningful. Because we are never alone on this quest and the choices we make every day matter.

If you are reading this, then it is most likely that you are one of the people here to usher a healthy era of creation. We are being called to find our own freedom and pave a path of hope and love. Our hearts are calling us to dream big, find our courage and face uncertainty when we are ready. This path is not for everyone as some choose it and some don’t know it’s an option, yet.

The beauty of not fitting in is in having choices to navigate our hearts and feel deeply into all of life.
