How much effort or attention we give something or someone is in our control. We have the power to choose how much effort we put into our work, relationships, and every aspect of our lives. Similarly, our beliefs shape our perceptions and attitudes towards the world. We have control over the beliefs we hold and can choose to adopt beliefs that are energizing, or depleting, for us.

In addition, we also have control over the food we eat, the kindness we show to ourselves and each other, and the information we consume.

However, there are also many things in life beyond our control, such as the future, the past, and the behavior of others. While we can plan and prepare, we cannot control what will happen or what has already happened.
