Being Present
We don’t know exactly how everything will play out especially when we’re not present. We may plan but we don’t really ever know what will happen next. A choice, a decision, a second can change our lives. That’s all it takes.
Being open and present to life entails letting go. There is a saying that depression is living in the past, anxiety is worrying about the future, and true fulfillment is living in the present.
When we stop fearing what can go wrong, and let go of past hurts and wounds, we can integrate ourselves into the present.
The Present Path is Always Waiting
No one knows what is right and wrong for each of us. It’s just part of the conditioning to believe someone knows which path is best for us.
This is a journey where we can make choices about which door we want to explore: Suffering or thriving? Problems or opportunities? Oceans or mountains? Fries or salad?.
Self-awareness and self-love take investment and work. You can’t buy them or outsource them. Self-love allows us to make choices as we trust that each one will provide a rich experience. Success and failure no longer influence us because we are lighter in how we approach the present.
Radical curiosity, honesty, humility, openness, compassion, courage, discernment and self-awareness provide us with an ability to live a meaningful life. Being truly human comes naturally, with no judgment, and an openness to greet each day with wonder and awe.
Tapping into Our Humanity
The road may sometimes have potholes. Our shoes might get wet and muddy. Our favorite jeans may tear. Our hearts may break. We may grieve a terrible loss. There will be difficult moments at unexpected junctions that make us reflect.
But all of this messiness makes us who we are and we get to show up as ourselves in every aspect of our lives. Sometimes we cry and sometimes we laugh until tears of joy run down our faces. Anything and everything is possible!
This trek is incredible and makes us discover who we are as part of a greater Universe. When we let go of whatever is no longer needed, we welcome opportunities to live a life well-lived filled with wild adventures because we are the ones we have been waiting for.
